About IDCAresearch
IDCAresearch is a private research organization that collaborates with local and global institutions in conducting and promoting research on Brain and Aging in the Philippines. The research focus is on epidemiology, genetics, early diagnosis, and non-pharmacologic interventions for cognitive impairment that are apropos to Filipino communities.
IDCAresearch hosts researchers from the diverse fields of neuroscience – psychology, neurology, psychiatry, physics, human kinetics, genetics, geriatrics, epidemiology, applied math, imaging and neurotechnology. As a hub for researchers, it connects and directs teams towards finding ways to promote brain health and improve dementia care in the Philippines.

The study evaluated the pilot INDAK Teacher Training Course and identified trainee-reported facilitators and constraints relevant to future community implementation.

From Training Satisfaction to Implementation Readiness
The pilot demonstrated that the INDAK Teacher Training Course was feasible, highly acceptable, and perceived as relevant and practical by trainees.
Participants particularly valued supportive instruction, individualized feedback, accessible learning materials, and the development of dance, teaching, and cognitive skills.
The study also highlighted areas needed to strengthen the transition from training to community practice, including additional practice time, supervised practicum, accessible instructional materials, visual resources, and refresher training.

Learners perceived the DCC as highly relevant, acceptable, and applicable. Its case-based design was a key strength. Future iterations should deepen applied clinical content, streamline materials, and increase interactive and human-centered delivery. Pre-post assessments are needed to determine knowledge and competency gains.
